   Let's tell about everything one after another. Champion of Ukraine, graduate of Uzhgorod chess school (coach - FM Prokopishin Vasily) GM Zakhar Efimenko visited Opening ceremony of the tournament. On the photo - arbiters, organizers, Zakhar and him first coach open the tournament.
International Chess Tournament               
"Uzhgorod-open, Spring 2007" has finished!     

 
   On the whole in the tournaments "A" and "B" took part 62 participants: representatives of Ukraine, Slovak Republic and Hungary, among them there were 5 international masters and 1 FIDE-master. In a main tournament the first prize 1000 UAH was won by IM from Slovak Republic - Kotan Ladislav, second place - IM from Uzhgorod Dovzhik Juri, and third place - young talent from Chernivtsi Bernadskiy Vitaliy. In all 8 prize places, and also the best veteran, junior, woman and local player, were awarded.
    In the tournament "B"  won Schurenko Volodymyr from Beregovo, Rostovska Dariela (Uzhgorod) on the second place, and on the third place - Lukecha Victor (Uzhgorod). In all 5 basic prizes, and also prizes, are in categories younger 12, younger 16, girls younger 16. All of prizewinners also are awarded with the diplomas and medals.

There were entry forms from Byelorussia and even from the USA, Arabic Emirates, Iraq, Bangladesh and Nigeria, but the personal circumstances and problems with the receipt of visa did not allow chess-players from these countries to arrive to Uzhgorod. Possibly next time!

The future winner of tournament in the first round wasn't able to overcome Vasyl Matvienko.
An unbelievable concentration on the game was mark of Valery Korduban from Chernivtsi.
After tournament game it is possible to play blitz! Black dog from a nearby yard showed large interest to chess.
The next day fight began in the tournament "B". 
The group of leaders began to appear in the main tournament.
The youngest participant of the tournament  with the author of most photos.
At the beginning of fourth playing day leadership was taken by guests from Chernivtsi. On the photo it is possible to see as a derby of Chernivtsi begins. Young talent Vitaliy Bernadskiy won in deep end-game.

In the last round all decided on the first table in the game Kotan - Bernadskiy. International master from Slovak Republic did not lose the chance: won with white figures and the same became the winner of the tournament. On the photo - rewarding of winner.

Olga Yushko won womens prize, the best veteran - Anatoly Prokopchuk, among juniors victory was celebrated by Mykhailo Baloha, and among local chess-players - Vlagyimir Rizsonkov.

Large will to victory was demonstrated by the vice-president of Chess Federation of Rivne - Alexander Kolbasin.
   Tournament passed in a pleasant atmosphere and uncompromising fight on the chess-boards. Organizers did everything it is possible, that sporting holiday passed on the greatest level and they plan to do tournament traditional. Next tournament in Uzhgorod will take a place on September, 15-16, 2007, it will be already traditional V Transcarpathian Rapidtournament "Chess Decyk".  Position of this tournament can be looked on the main page of our site.
